NEO Rings the Bell with ComKids
It was an inspiring start to the day on April 28th, 2021, as we rang the bell with ComKids, a not for profit organization that provides much-needed support for students who lack consistent and reliable access to technology in their homes.
Founded over 20 years ago, the ComKids program (formerly known as Kids, Cops & Computers) aims to bridge the digital divide by providing participating students across the Golden Horseshoe with brand new laptops and digital literacy workshops to enhance their skills.
“The pandemic has taught us many things – one of them being that technology can be an enabler of learning, of productivity, of advancement. But only if people have access to it” commented Jos Schmitt, President & CEO of NEO. “ComKids provides just that – access to technology for those who otherwise would go without, and NEO is proud to support them as an ongoing partner and sponsor. ComKids levels the playing field by providing brand new technology and digital literacy training to marginalized youth so they have access to the same resources and advantages as their peers, and therefore, the opportunity to achieve their full potential.”
